i-am-iam-i-am asked: I would call it controversial science. Mainly because it defies dogmatic religious beliefs on the origin of the universe and species. The fact that such notions are controversial does not make them "mainstream". Sure they are more talked about than others, but that doesn't in anyway make them erroneous.
