Today I dreamed

My friend and I were being pursued by the police because I didn’t have an ID.

I heard them approaching so we lied down, facing the ground, hands over head, and I heard them stealthily walking into the place

then no noise

then two gunshots..

Didn’t wake up.

I could still feel myself lying on the ground with my hands over my head but for moments I couldn’t feel pressure or anything of sort, I felt peace mixed with a good feeling..

Yesterday I met with AIESEC interns from India who’ve been here for two weeks and they didn’t eat much because they couldn’t find variety of vegetarian restaurants, so I took them for a ride and we kept looking for places with good food, till we found a good syrian place with good kreeb.

They enjoyed it.

Ok this is as basic as I can do right now so sorry for the very bad pics but this is a rough idea as to how I draw with pencils and where I begin n’ stuff.

I use three pencils:

The one on the left is the main one, the lead is soft as well, around 3H I believe which is used mainly for the soft shading parts and where the main drawing happens, like building up the whole shabang. the middle one is more darker, I think it’s 2h and a 0.3 lead shape and i use that more for the finer dark points and to go over the soft areas more with. The last one on the right is the ol’ 0.5 lead, and it’s a 2b or a B i forgot, but that one is used to darken areas and use for shadows and stuff really make it look sweet.

The subject and test for this is this ol’ fella’s face:

I begin by using the pencil on the left, and work straight away on the left eye (his right) and on his ear. I start all faces from this part as it helps me to decide how far away his other eye will be on the paper and you gotta start somewhere!

Also it’s good to have your lead like this!

so then more work happens, and then i move onto the other eye and work with the head shape, i always feel the better the nose the better the piece of work so i tend to put alot more into the nose. each time i make small hatching lines to build up the face and around the main areas.

Then the next step is working on the mouth, and i do this by seeing the main 4 points of that area and measure them on the paper. its weird but you have to ”count how long it takes from your eye to get from one end to the other” - so you are drawing with your eyes. you copy that movement with your drawing hand to get the perfect measurement (if that makes sense …

so yes i do this with the mouth (here is a guidance )

then i just add the details and then swap pencils to get darker areas here and there…

Here is close ups of the face and of the small areas of shade:

Now this is mainly because whenever i see an image to work from or whatever i look at that and see areas of difference. by doing so i build the whole drawing up like a jigsaw and it all tends to fit into place. This is roughly what I saw with the blokes face:

so by shading them selected areas i can create the image.
